Frequently Asked Questions

Over time, I’ve noticed that different people keep asking me the same questions, so instead of typing out the same answers over and over again, I decided to put together a blog post to address them. Then I can just point them to this post and save myself a bit of time. I’ll probably update this post from time to time to maintain it, but here are the questions that I am asked the most:

Q: How do I download your toy boxes?

A: You can’t. The Disney Infinity servers don’t exist anymore, so it is impossible to share toy box creations from the consoles. The only way to play my toy boxes is to build them yourself on your own system. That’s why I make videos to show how to build my toy boxes.

If you are on PC, I believe there is a mod that allows you to share toy box save files. If someone wants to build my toy boxes on PC and make the save files available to others, they are welcome to do so, as long as I am credited for the original toy box design. However, I do not follow the modding community or know anything about the mod, so please do not ask me about it. Your best bet is to ask on reddit or in the Disney Infinity discord.

Q: What system do you play on?

A: The Wii U. I use the 32GB black deluxe model, which has the most memory.

Q: Why don’t you play on the PC?

A: I don’t own a PC.

Besides, the PC version doesn’t have all of the play sets and figures, which means it does not have all of the building pieces that were available. As a toy box designer, I prefer to have as many building pieces available as possible. Also, the PC version doesn’t support local multiplayer.

Q: How do I use the toy box editor? Or how do I use a particular Creativi-toy?

A: You should check out my Toy Box Tutorials series. If you’re new to the toy box and aren’t familiar with how to create a toy box, you should start with episode 1 and work your way through at least the first dozen episodes in that series. That will point you in the right direction and help familiarize you with the basics.

If you have a question about a particular Creativi-toy, you should look for a Toy Box Tutorials episode that covers that toy. At the time of this writing, I’ve covered about 2/3 of the toys, so the odds are that you’ll find an episode there that will answer your question.

Q: How do I find a certain toy in the Toy Store? Or how do I find a certain toy that I have purchased in the toy box editor?

A: Check out episode 102 of my Toy Box Tutorials series.

Q: How do I unlock a certain toy in some play set?

A: Go to infinityguru.com and bookmark that site in your browser. It’s a great site that tells you how to unlock every toy in every play set. There are a number of pulldown menus at the top of the page for the different Disney Infinity versions. Click on those, and you’ll find each play set listed there, with submenus that take you to instructions for all of the unlockable toys, achievements, and challenges.

Q: How do I unlock a certain sidekick in Disney Infinity 3.0?

For the sidekicks that are available in the base game, visit IGN’s sidekick guide. For the sidekicks that are only available through the Toy Box Takeover expansion game, visit infinityguru.com.

Q: How do I unlock certain terrain themes, block styles, race track styles, etc?

A: Many themes/styles and skies can be purchased through the toy store. Some styles and skies are from a play set, and to get those, you need to place the corresponding play set piece on the Disney Infinity base while you’re in the toy box mode. Other styles and skies are only available via a toy box customization power disc.

If you don’t know how to use the toy store in 3.0, you should check out episode 102 of my Toy Box Tutorials series.

If you want to know more about power discs, visit the Disney Infinity Wiki.

Q: Can you create <some toy box idea>?

A: Probably not. While I don’t mind suggestions, I receive dozens of them every week. Realistically, I just don’t have the time to design and build a toy box for everyone. I’m only one man.

But sometimes I get requests for toy boxes that I’ve already built, so you should browse the categories on the right-hand side of my blog pages or the Playlists tab on my YouTube channel to see if I’ve already built it.

Q: How do you make your videos?

A: Click on the Behind-the-Scenes category on my blog. I wrote a blog post that describes my process in detail.

Q: What Disney Infinity figures and play sets are compatible with what versions?

A: This official compatibility chart should answer your questions.
